Listen to the official playlist

New this year – Mundial Montréal will be presenting Rythmes Nocturnes, official late-night showcases, for the first time. Born of a desire to highlight the intersections between global sounds, electronic music and pop that have dominated cultural conversations in recent years, these showcases will continue the mission of amplifying musical diversity and opening new opportunities for artists within the touring market. Aluminé Guerrero, the dancing Latin pop of JACE Carrillo, the whimsical Afro-fusion of MAUVEY and the electrifying Afro-Caribbean house of DJ – a first at Mundial – Madame Vacile.

Also this year, in collaboration with Place des Arts, artists will be performing all week during the musical 5 à 7 presented at Salon Urbain, events that will be free and open to all. Bia Ferreira and NUNNE will share the stage on Wednesday, November 20, and Briga and Magdala on Thursday, November 21. To round off the event, Mundial Montréal welcomes Ramon Chicharron and Le Winston Band on Friday, November 22!

Over the course of four days, the artists, carefully selected by our programming committee, will take audiences in diametrically opposed and exhilarating directions, offering something for everyone.

Pop fans will be treated to the thirst-quenching afropop of ANNEGA and Kelly Bado, the versatile pop fusion of Laura Low and the catchy grooves of Les Passagers.

As part of the Indigenous Sounds Series, the Mundial Montréal team is delighted to present four Indigenous artists with contrasting universes. The traditional drum and choral group Nimkii and The Niniis, the cinematic modern folk duo Burnstick, Blue Moon Marquee, whose jazz-tinged blues creates a captivating result, and finally Soleil Launière and her soul-roots avant-garde performance art will be animating some of Montreal’s finest venues throughout the week.

Farah Siraj, Briga and Pallmer will each explore in their own way the influences surrounding their folk music, sometimes marked by Middle Eastern and Balkan sounds, sometimes resolutely more pop.

Journeys to Gallic and Nordic lands are in store, with the Norwegian folk of VÍÍK, the Irish-Scottish neo-trad of Aerialists and the Newfoundland swing of Duane Andrews – enough to warm the coldest of nights

Dance parties will always be at the heart of the action, thanks to Rabie Houti Band and their transcendent Arabo-Andalusian fusion, Zale Seck‘s energetic Senegalese rumba, the latin electro stylings of La Sra. Tomasa and the energetic trad rock of Les Rats d’Swompe.

Jazz will be explored in all its subtleties! From the instrumental trio Misc, nourished by pop rock influences, to the contemporary leanings of the Jeremy Ledbetter Trio, via the Thai Afrobeat instrumental projectSalin and the desert jazz of Abdoulaye Nderguet et le Bex’tet, there will be something for everyone.

Ron Artis II, virtuoso guitarist with a magnetic voice, and Tina Leon, who draws her inspiration from the soul music of recent decades, and artivist Bia Ferreira, whose Música de Mulher Preta appeals to all audiences, will be honoring soul sounds.

Alternative Latin music also finds its place with NUNNE, offering contemporary Latin music with haunting acoustic melodies, Empanadas Ilegales and their psychedelic creepy mambo, Magdala, who draws their inspiration from Gospel, Zouk, Kompa, Dancehall and R&B, and Mireya Ramos, who embodies a multitude of musical influences rooted in mariachi, ranging from classical to hip-hop.

Pro component : sure-fire stars return!
