Northern Turtle Island Collective at WOMEX

The Northern Turtle Island Collective sets foot in the UK!
As well as being the world’s largest music conference, Worldwide Music Expo (WOMEX) is the world’s most international and diverse music gathering, with an exhibitor market, conferences, films and artist showcases. WOMEX and its community aim to support and strengthen the role of culture worldwide, and to spread its values by promoting creativity and music.
The event remains dedicated to facilitating and promoting the global music industry, and provides a platform for connecting, inspiring and sharing experiences, enabling among other things an open international economic and cultural dialogue.
For the Mundial Montréal team, it’s an immense privilege to take part year after year, a golden opportunity to exchange with the biggest players on the international global scene and to reimagine the future of music!

For the third year running, the NTI Collective, in collaboration with the Délégation générale du Québec à Londres, invites you to an informal get-together on Tuesday evening before diving headfirst into the hustle and bustle of WOMEX. This barbecue is the perfect opportunity for the 70+ members of the Canadian and Quebec delegation to meet, exchange strategies and network with targeted local and international colleagues, all in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
Join us from 6pm at the Oast House Manchester, where grilled meats inspired by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors will be served in an atmosphere signed DJ William C. From 7pm, let yourself be carried away by the unofficial showcases of Just Prince, Kazdoura, Iskwē, Andy Rubal, JoSH and Mélisande, for an evening of musical conviviality.

Aysanabee in an official showcase
Don’t miss artist Oji-Cree Aysanabee performing as an official showcase at WOMEX! Solemn and soaring, underpinned by a swirling mix of indie, soul and electronic soundscapes, mournful saxophone and rhythm-accelerating finger-picking, her sound, described as striking, is both hypnotic and melodic.
