WOMEX 2024 – Mentorship, unofficial showcases and database : apply now!

Call for Canadian participants now open!

This year, CINARS, FolQuébec, Folk Canada, Global Toronto/Small World Music, International Indigenous Music Summit, Mundial Montréal and Sunfest are once again calling for applications from artists and professionals wishing to participate in mentoring sessions and an unofficial showcase in the run-up to WOMEX 2024, to be held from October 22 to 27, 2024 in Manchester, UK.

Participate in a mentoring session

Whether it’s your first or tenth time at WOMEX, there are many challenges to navigating and making the most of this massive event. That’s why we will be hosting a series of pre-WOMEX mentoring activities, including a gathering on October 22 as well as an earlier online information session to be announced at a later date.

Perform at an unofficial showcase on October 22!

The B2BBQ networking event and showcase will also be back this year, and the unofficial showcase on Tuesday evening, October 22, will feature a range of Canadian artists presenting short performances in an intimate format.

If you’d like to perform at B2BBQ and/or be part of the mentoring cohort, please fill out the call for applications form.

Register for the database!

IF you’re going to WOMEX, but don’t plan to take part in the mentoring program, or don’t want to participate in the unofficial showcases as an artist, it’s still possible to register in the Canadian and Quebec database! It’s the best way to be included in the large pool of Canadian and Quebec industry professionals who attend WOMEX, year after year. You don’t even need to know if you’ll be attending WOMEX next year! Above all, this database will enable the collective to share information with partners, artists and professionals, to encourage and multiply connections between the many players in the industry.

Apply now!

Registration details

Registration is free, but space is limited. Those selected for the cohort will be responsible for paying their own travel (to and from the event), accommodation and conference badge. Only those already planning to attend WOMEX should register for these calls. Mentoring participants can be artists or professionals. Participants should plan to arrive no later than Monday, October 21.

It is important for our teams to work with and for under-represented artists and groups, as well as Indigenous, people of color, refugee, immigrant, 2SLGBTQAI+ and women candidates.

The call for applications closes on July 1 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.
