Mundial Montréal : The 2022 Program is now Complete! 

MONTRÉAL, 4 October 2022   

Mundial Montréal returns for its 12th edition in person from November 15 to 18 2022 and on its virtual networking platform from November 7 to 25 2022. The conference/festival event attracts over 300 music industry professionals, including Canadian and international delegates, who will immerse themselves in the best of the global music scene. Come meet us in Montréal for 4 days of musical discovery through showcases, networking activities, informative conferences and a few other surprises.   

The Complete List of Showcasing Artists Announced  

Following the announcement of the first names back in August with groove&, Helsinki-Contonou Ensemble, Le Diable à Cinq, Lengaïa Salsa Brava, Moneka Arabic Jazz, Nohe & Sus Santos, Polky and Symbio. As well as the second announcement in September with Afrikana Soul Sister, Ánnámaret, AySay, Bab L’Bluz, É.T.É, JINJ, Kubasonics, Maria and The Band, Pierre Kwenders, PIQSIQ and The Brooks, Mundial Montréal presents its latest batch of showcasing artists! 

They are, Ammoye, who presents a unique, forward-looking reggae sound that integrates old school rocksteady, dancehall and dubstep with gospel, soul and rhythm and blues. ANYMA who’s pop-indie sensibility sails between electronic textures, orchestral elements and vivid sounds inspired by her Wendat Nation. Cédric Dind-Lavoie, a versatile multi-instrumentalist and composer of traditional Quebec music. Duo Perse-Inca who create a contemporary dialogue between the music of the Andes and Iran. Kayiri, is a multi-faceted artist and violinist who simply wishes to share her reality through. Lara Wong, a distinctive artist on the flamenco scene today, a Canadian flutist, bansuri player and leader of the Lara Wong Trio. Leonard Sumner is a testament to his ability to simultaneously occupy the landscapes of several musical genres, including hip-hop, spoken word, country and r&b. Oreka TX consists of a unique group known for its energy and strong presence. The group likes to collaborate and experiment with other artistic disciplines in its shows. Shauit who ingeniously fuses several popular genres (folk, roots, reggae, etc.) and offers honest, committed songs filled with emotion. Soukustek encapsulates dance, joy and history; it is Africa in Colombia, harmoniously blending the rhythms and sounds of the guitars that arrived in Colombia from Africa in the 1970s. Syroko proposes a mixed sound, drawn from Algerian Chaabi. 

The Programming Committee  

For the first time, Mundial Montréal collaborated with a programming committee on the curation, selection and programming of the artists in the official showcases. Jury members were selected based on skills, background and experience. The committee included Alfredo Caxaj (Sunfest), Alannah Johnson (Alianait Arts Festival), Catherine Pépin (CBC/Radio-Canada), Isabel Soffer (GlobalFEST), Max Merrifield (Festival Boréal/ Bloom Festival), Marc Fournier (CBC/Radio-Canada) and Paméla Kamar (Vision Diversité).
