Call for artists – OFF SHOWCASES at BABEL MUSIC XP 2025

Until January 30, Mundial Montréal in collaboration with Vision Diversité is inviting Canadian artists to apply to participate in an unofficial showcase at the next edition of BABEL MUSIC XP, to be held in Marseille, France, from March 20 to 22, 2025.

BABEL MUSIC XP aims to be a Mediterranean hub at the heart of the global music scene, a place for industry professionals and artists to meet, exchange and share ideas. The event aims to stimulate the economy of an ecosystem in constant transformation, and take the pulse of music creation on a global scale.
At the heart of the global music scene, world music, hybrid music, and music stemming from cultural diversity, it is a place for meetings, exchanges, and sharing among industry professionals and artists. The event aims to stimulate the economy of a constantly evolving ecosystem and take the pulse of musical creation on a global scale.

Registration details:

To be eligible for this call for submissions, selected artists must be based in Quebec and meet the requirements of Musicaction’s Événement à l’international program. This implies having :

  • Released an album, EP or single in the last 24 months, or plan to release one in the next 6 months;
  • Completed a Canadian tour (2-3 dates in one month) within the last 24 months.
  • A team of at least 2 people (including self-generated artists, managers, agents, PR people, etc.);
  • Public and industry recognition (awards, radio broadcasts, streams, strong press coverage, etc.);
  • An agreement with a Canadian distribution companyfor further details, please consult the Musicaction program.Those selected will be responsible for paying for their own travel (to and from the conference), accommodation and conference badge.It is important for our teams to work with and for under-represented artists and groups, as well as Indigenous, people of color, refugee, immigrant, 2SLGBTQAI+ and women candidates.

LOJIQ – For the mobility of artists and independent cultural workers!

LOJIQ is the network of organizations for international youth mobility. Its Career Development program allows young artists and cultural workers aged 18 to 35 to carry out professional development projects in Quebec, Canada, and internationally by offering support and financial assistance for an enriching experience! If your application is selected under this initiative, the Quebec section of the OFQJ – Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse, a member of the LOJIQ family, may provide support for your mobility. You could also receive an additional lump-sum allowance if you live in a remote area in Quebec. To learn more, visit their website!

Call for pros:

For the 2025 edition of Babel Music XP, Mundial Montréal and Vision Diversité are teaming up to form a Canadian delegation in Marseille.

3-day accreditation at the Early Bird preferential rate: €112,20 (instead of €130).

Available for purchase until January 30th, 2025. 

From January 31st to March 3rd 2025, the price will increase to €130.

About Vision Diversité

Vision Diversité is a non-profit organization co-founded in 2006 by Aida and Paméla Kamar. It operates as a producer specializing in world music and a mobile promoter, producing and broadcasting its events in partnership with other promoters in the Montreal and Quebec scenes. With year-round programming for the past 18 years, it has supported hundreds of artists through series, creations, and its flagship event, MUZ, a world music gathering that will present its 15th edition from October 2 to 5 of 2025, at Studio TD.

The presence of a Francophone and Quebec delegation in Marseille, as well as the presentation of two off-showcase musical performances at Babel Music XP, is made possible through the support of Musicaction and SODEC.
