Daycase Off-Selection—Ayrad and Shauit

Ayrad

Ayrad fuses the talents of musicians hailing from different backgrounds: singer, guitarist and composer of Moroccan origin Hamza Abouabdelmajid, Annick Beauvais (oboe, vocals), Anit Ghosh (violin), Sylvain Plante (drums, percussion) and Gabriel Brochu-Lajoie (bass, keyboard), Marton Maderspach (percussions). Ayrad is a band that never hesitates to transgress musical boundaries. Their brand new album III is as contemporary and more accessible than its predecessor. This rock and pop album explores and integrates different genres such as Electro, Gypsy Funk, Desert Rock, Rai, Reggada, Chaabi and even latin grooves.

Shauit

Twice nominated in the Indigenous Artist of the Year category at the prestigious ADISQ awards gala, Shauit ingeniously fuses several popular genres (folk, roots, reggae, etc.) and offers honest, committed songs filled with emotion. Originally from Maliotenam in northeastern Quebec, the singer-songwriter embodies a universe strongly inspired by his Innu roots and traditional Indigenous music.

Don’t miss performances by artists Shauit at 3:30 p.m. and Ayrad at 4:45 p.m. on March 24 at Cabaret Aléatoire—Friche la Belle de Mai.

Transatlantic Bridge Prize
The prize giveaway to add to your schedule!

After a few years of absence, we are happy to see the return of an initiative that is dear to us. The Transatlantic Bridge Award is back!

On March 23 at 12:00, we invite you to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the event, which will be followed by the presentation of the Transatlantic Bridge Prize. Mundial Montréal and BabelXP will offer the prize to an artist in its programming of the year, so as to secure a place for them in the official programming of the partner event.

It is thanks to inititatives like the Prix Pont Transatlantique that Mundial Montréal and BabelXP can help stimulate the circulation of new talent and create new touring possibilities for artists around the world.

Be there from noon on March 23, in the hall of the Grand Plateau—Friche La Belle de Mai.
