Mundial Montréal at Innu Nikamu 2023!

See you in Maliotenam from August 1 to 6!

Innu Nikamu (“he sings in Innu”).

Near Sept-Îles, on Quebec’s North Shore, the Maliotenam community has long been a meeting and gathering point for the region’s Innu people.

After 33 years of musical gatherings, today’s Festival Innu Nikamu has become one of the most important festivals of Aboriginal music and art in North America, featuring musicians, artists and performers from the First Nations of Quebec and Canada, as well as international guests. The event, one of the only ones being held on an Aboriginal reserve, still takes place on the bucolic site of the former Pensionnat Notre-Dame de Maliotenam, transforming this site with a heavy past into a place where people come to celebrate a culture that refuses to die out.

Where: Maliotenam, Québec

When: 1-6 août 2023

Mundial Montréal alumni on stage

This year’s festival welcomes several big names from the Quebec scene, including Loud, Gipsy Kings, Roxanne Bruneau and several other headliners. They’ll also be joined on stage by three Mundial Montréal alumni: Aysanabee, Beatrice Deer and Florent Vollant. Don’t miss their shows!

A PRO component for Innu Nikamu

For the first time since its creation, this year’s Innu Nikamu festival will have a PRO component. Mundial Montréal is honoured to have been invited to take part in this first edition.  We look forward to strengthening our ties with Quebec’s Native communities.

Our Executive Producer Jessica Blain-Descormiers will be on-site in Maliotenam to meet with all those present. It is the perfect time to meet and connect around common interests!

IT'S A DATE
