Mundial Montréal Will Close out its 12th Edition with two Special Events!
Dear delegates, get ready for a unique and exhilarating night to close out the festivities. ? Following Leonard Sumner’s outdoor showcase under the Van Horne viaduct, we will all meet at the Fairmount Theatre at 8:30 p.m. for the closing night concert presented by MUZ. Following this show featuring Veeby, Sesquialtera and La Léa, we will continue the party at the BLEND after party, co-presented by Mundial Montreal, M for Montreal and the SAT.
MUZ will be taking the stage for the closing night of Mundial Montréal.
In partnership with Vision Diversité, a Montréal-based producer specializing in diverse music, Mundial Montréal’s closing night will feature MUZ, le Rendez-vous des musiques métissées, which will bring the 2022 edition to an end with three totally different voyages into the worlds of Veeby, Sesquialtera and La Léa.
The signature of Veeby expresses all these influences from her Cameroonian origins nourished by the vibrant rhythms of soul and urban music. In all languages, she sings of love, peace, respect and offers, with her bewitching voice, a rich and fascinating universe.
Following the magic of Veeby, the evening will vibrate to the rhythm of a very special fanfare, Sesquialtera, composed of 6 musicians from the Montréal music scene, who nevertheless offer an instrumental work around original compositions written by Aurélien Tomasi. A festive and profound repertoire, suggesting a scenario where different cultures would have mutually influenced each other for a globalized and colorful music.
The evening will end with the group La Léa. The singer-songwriter, Léa Touzé, will navigate between flamenco nuevo, jazz, bossa nova and rumba catalana. Accompanied by her crew, Dominique Soulard (flamenco guitarist), Marie-Andrée Cloutier (bassist and flamenco dancer), Andy King (trumpeter) and Éric Breton (percussionist), the singer and dancer of French-Catalan origin will invite us to share her migrant’s logbook, Derivas, for an immersive journey and a poetic crossing.
