Mundial Montréal visits Toronto!

Mundial Montréal is proud to announce its presence at the International Indigenous Music Summit 2023, which will be held in Toronto from May 31 to June 4. IIMS is one of the only event in the world dedicated to raising awareness, sharing resources and creating opportunities for the indigenous music community.

Don’t miss Canadian artists performing at IIMS 2023

On June 3Classic Roots, Quique Escamilla and Shauit will take the stage at the official evening showcase, presented by Mundial Montréal. The showcases will be held at TRANZAC, starting at 22:00.

Shauit
Originally from Maliotenam in northeastern Quebec, the singer-songwriter sings in Creole, French, English, but mostly in his native language, Innu.

Classic Routes
Hailing from Thunder Bay, Classic Roots brings the northern boreal rhythm to life with his unique brand of electronica and pow-wow techno. He navigates the unique sound of techno/house music while dancing to the rhythm of traditional Anishinaabe sounds, establishing a sense of cultural freedom that carries over into the electronic music scene.

Quique Escamilla
Quique Escamilla is a Mexican Maya-Zapotec born and raised in Chiapas. He is a multi-instrumentalist musician, singer-songwriter, producer, who won the Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year at the 2015 Juno Awards with his first full-length, self-produced album, 500 Years of Night.

Mundial Montréal Alumnis at IIMS!

Two Mundial Montréal Alumnis, Beatrice Deer et Elisapie, will also be showcased at IIMS 2023. On Wednesday, May 31st, you will have the chance to hear Beatrice Deer, of Inuk origin, during the Opening Gala at 18:00 at the TD Music Hall.

On Friday, June 2 starting at 19:30, discover the music of another Inuk artist, Elisapie, also performing at TD Music Hall.

Mundial Montréal Mixer : Armenian cuisine & networking in collaboration with the Bureau du Québec à Toronto

Mundial Montréal and the Bureau du Québec à Toronto invites you on June 3rd at The Oud & the Fuzz for a cocktail where you will have the chance to network with members of the Quebec industry and representatives of the artists from the province that will be in official showcases: Beatrice Deer, Elisapie and Shauit.    

Meet us at 18:00 on the covered terrace of The Oud & the Fuzz to savor delicious finely selected Armenian cuisine, accompanied by refreshing drinks including sangria, pomegranate mules and beer.

The reception will be followed later on at 22:00 by the official late night showcase of : Shauit, Quique Escamilla and Classic Roots at the venue TRANZAC.

When: Saturday June 3, from 18:00 to 19:00
