Mundial Montréal at Babel Music XP 2024!

Babel Music XP 2024: everything you need to know!

Mundial Montréal is thrilled to be returning to Marseilles for Babel Music XP 2024. From March 28 to 30, our team will be presenting an official showcase as well as two Daycase OFF events. We’ll also be on hand at booth #28 to chat and connect. Come and meet us!

Learn more about the artists!

Official Selection – Vox Sambou

A native of Limbé, Haiti, and an emblematic artist of Montreal’s cosmopolitan scene, Vox Sambou creates sparks with his all-terrain flow: Creole, French, English, Spanish and Portuguese on one side, Afrobeat, reggae, jazz, Caribbean rhythms, hip-hop, Candomblé on the other… Co-founder of the epic collective Nomadic Massive, the MC-poet-performer leads an intense solo career, driven by a definitively unformatted rap, at once conscious, militant and denouncing inequalities. Vox Sambou, the voice without end, without limits and without frontiers, has become “the eternal voice of Haiti”.

⏰ Friday, March 29 at 12 am at Dock des Suds

Daycase OFF and reception

Join us for Daycase OFF, where Les Grands Hurleurs and Diogo Ramos will share the stage from 11:30 am on Friday, March 29. The showcases will also include a reception presented by the Bureau du Québec à Paris, starting at noon. We invite Canadian and European professionals to join us for drinks and appetizers, and to discover two well-known Canadian bands.

Les Grands Hurleurs (11:30 am)

With the integration of folk, classical and bluegrass influences, the band will surprise and touch people once again with this enriched trad! Fiddles, mandolin, guitar, double bass, feet and rich vocal harmonies combine to explore a multitude of emotions. Fall under the spell of this band that has won three Félix awards in its career!

Diogo Ramos  (12:30 pm)

Diogo Ramos is a Brazilian-born singer-songwriter from Montreal. A recipient of numerous awards over the course of his career, he was the winner of the most recent edition of the MUZ Vision Diversité Festival. Nominated in the “Album of the Year: World Music” category at ADISQ 2023!

⏰ Friday, March 29, 11:30 a.m. at  Cabaret Aléatoire, Belle Friche de Mai

The Pont Transatlantique Award

For the second year running, we’re delighted to announce the return of the Prix Pont Transatlantique. Mundial Montréal and BabelXP will offer the prize to an artist in their year’s program, securing them a place in the official program of the partner event. Thanks to the Pont Transatlantique Award, Mundial Montréal and BabelXP stimulate the circulation of new talent and create new touring opportunities.
