First wave of artists unveiled!
Mundial Montréal returns for its 13th edition from November 14 to 17! Over 300 industry professionals, including international and Canadian delegates, will gather in Montreal this November to discover the best in global music.
Discover the first 8 names in the line-up!
With a line-up featuring nearly 30 showcased artists, Mundial Montréal will present groups from both local and international cultural diversity. The conference festival continues to honour the diversity of Canadian and international talent!
The programming committee has now finalized its analysis of the submissions, and is delighted to share the first groups selected. Each year, new jurys sit on the committee, ensuring that we always paint a fair and up-to-date picture of the industry. The members of the 2023 committee will be announced soon!
Mundial Montréal showcases the best in global music, where projects are rooted in cultural traditions, identities and historical legacies. Each of the groups showcased has unique baggage in which the plurality of identities converges, giving birth to unique musical creations.
Discover the official showcased artists
From Montreal, we’re pleased to present Mi’gmafrica, a project that links Mi’gmaq and Mandingo musical traditions, songs and sounds.
Simon Denizart & Elli Miller Maboungou, a meeting of two virtuosos who hypnotize audiences with their cinematic neoclassical jazz.
From Toronto, we’re delighted to present two artists who blend contemporary production and electronic music with their own idiosyncratic singer-songwriter aesthetic: producer and electro rnb singer Sebastian Gaskin from the Tataskweyak Cree Nation, and Brazilian afrofuturist queer bossa nova Bruno Capinan.
From Western Canada, we’re pleased to present, in collaboration with Manitoba Music, the electrifyingly funky hip-hop ensemble Super Duty Tough Work.
Mundial Montréal is pleased to present international artists, acting as a key entry point for the North American market. In collaboration with our dear friends at KAMS, who have been instrumental in connecting the exciting Korean contemporary roots scene with global audiences, we are pleased to present the Korean-Irish Pansori fusion show Second Moon.
Thanks to our friends at Sound Czech, we’re delighted to present avant-garde experimental electronic composer Lenka Dusilová.
Finally, in collaboration with Music Export Memphis, we are delighted to welcome Talibah Safiya, a blues artist with a powerful and evocative soul.
The programming committee analyzed over 300 applications, and we’d like to thank them for their involvement in selecting these fantastic artists.
