Supporting and guiding the next generation of artists and music industry professionals is fundamental to Mundial Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We are delighted to renew our mentoring program<\/strong> as part of Mundial Montr\u00e9al 2025<\/strong>. As the exchange and sharing of skills are key elements of the program, places to take part remain limited, offering an intimate setting conducive to learning and discussion.<\/p>\n

From August 29 to October 10<\/strong>, seven free sessions will be offered online as part of the program five of them for PRO and two for artists, spread out between August and October. Find out more about the content of the sessions and registration conditions below!<\/p>\n

Mentorship program : PROS<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The Pro Mentorship Program aims to transfer knowledge between established professionals and the next generation of music craftspeople.\u202f The Pro Mentoring Program offers 20 people the chance to take part in mentoring sessions with 5 inspiring mentors.<\/p>\n

Conditions:<\/strong>
\nThe program will be offered to 20 accredited professionals attending Mundial Montr\u00e9al 2025. Registration occurs when purchasing a pass: the first 20 people to express interest in the PRO Mentorship Program while registering\u00a0with the PRO or PRO Essentiel badge<\/em>\u00a0for Mundial Montr\u00e9al will be selected<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Join a workshop led by Elise Roller<\/strong> (Misfit Music Management) for an overview of the key steps to strategically grow your music career: building a strong local audience, leveraging showcase opportunities, preparing for export, and targeting the right markets without spreading yourself too thin.<\/p>\n

      Join Nick Youn\u00e8s<\/strong> (Secret City Records) from Moonshine for a discussion on storytelling, branding and marketing to help you prepare for the release of your album. Even without a lot of financial resources, discover how great the possibilities are when you get to know the ecosystem and players involved in promoting, releasing and distributing your album.<\/p>\n

      Session n\u00b03 :\u00a0Money never sleeps: collecting royalties\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

      • Mentor : Aaron Lightstone<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
        Aaron Lightstone<\/strong> (CMRCI) will guide you through the sometimes-complex art of navigating the different types of music rights. What are the different types of rights? How do our rights work when our music is played on international radio? Should we register our music with international rights societies? These are just some of the questions that may be answered in this session!<\/div>\n

        Session n\u00b04 :\u00a0A broad view of booking: from strategy to touring\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

          What does booking involve? How should you approach an artist\u2019s tour? Join Danielle Devlin<\/strong> (Canis Major Music) to explore the realities of booking: what it entails, how to manage artist expectations, approach presenters, build an effective tour routing, and use showcases as a strategic lever to develop new markets.<\/p>\n

          Session n\u00b05 : Music supervision, or how to make your music shine on screen\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

            Martin Gutierrez <\/strong>(SoStereo) will present a session on how to monetize your music and how to prepare yourself to approach music supervisors, alone or with a team, with a view to placing your music in audiovisual content (series, films and commercials).<\/p>\n

            Mentorship program: Artists<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n

            The artist division of the mentorship program will help emerging artists prepare for their showcase at Mundial Montr\u00e9al<\/strong>, both artistically and professionally.<\/p>\n

            Conditions\u202f:
            \nOnly artists selected for an official showcase<\/strong> can participate in the Artist Mentorship Program. These artists will be directly invited to take part in the mentoring program once their selection has been confirmed. They will then be able to indicate their interest in joining the program.<\/p>\n

              With Olivier Laroche<\/strong> (Pimp ton show), learn more about how to promote your show in advance with various strategies, as well as how to present yourself on stage during an official showcase presentation.<\/p>\n

              Session n\u00b07 : Business development at the event: How to prepare<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

                Eli Levinson<\/strong> (Mundial Montr\u00e9al) and Maude St-Amand Courcy <\/strong>(Mundial Montr\u00e9al \/ Impresaria) will host a Q&A where participants can learn more about such topics as preparing promotional material, important activities not to be missed at Mundial 2024, and tips on how to approach the pros for a showcase presentation.<\/p>\n
